After
the devastating earthquake and its shocking impacts we first want to condole
with all those who are suffering from this disaster. Our thoughts are
with our colleagues at Mitsubishi and Isahaya Electronics. We hope, that they
and all their relatives are well - and stay also healthy in future.
An important question for our customers is the ability to deliver and fulfill open orders.
Both, Mitsubishi and Isahaya Electronics are producing exclusively in Japan. That grants the highest possible level of quality. Fortunately the manufacturing sites of both companies are located in the south of Japan, on Kyushu Island.

By that they are about 1000 km away from the desaster-hit region north of Tokyo. All their factories have stayed fully fit for work.
Mitsubishi:
The main export processing of Mitsubishi is done in Osaka. The management
and the head of logistics operates from Tokyo. As Tokyo is located only 250
km away from the Fukoshima nuclear power plants, we expect staggering consequences
in case the wind should turn. But in fact, the consequences for Japans most
important hub city will be not yet predictable.
End of March, Mr. Tamakoshi, head of semiconductor & device marketing,
updated the customers and partners of Mitsubishi regarding the situation at
the most important presuppliers: One major lead frame manufacturer for the
Mitsubishi DIP-IPMs was identified to be located in the tsunami area, furthermore
shortages in the supply of resin, diode chips and the supply of mixed acid
are identified. Those influences will strike
the production capacity during April by 10 to 50 %, in May by approximatly
30% and in June by 40 %.
Isahaya Electronics
handles the export via HongKong. We have not yet received an official announcement of the company regarding possible delays in order of breakdowns at presuppliers.
In our estimation, the general lead time
will grow at Mitsubishi Electric to 9 to 10 months for power components of
ineltron's product range. Delivery time of integrated circuits of Isahaya
Electronics should be calculated with
5 months.
Both manufacturers have proceeded to confirm only the receipt of customer orders any more. They both leave away any fixed delivery date in their confirmations at present. Distributors get only a shipment notification, when the respective logistic centre is shipping the goods to Europe.
Ineltron is distributor
of MITSUBISHI, Powerex (USA), Isahaya Electronics (Japan), InPower and Powersem
(Germany)..
We are also selling
heat sinks and assembly components of Arcel (France).
