Sept 2009: the new Mega Power Dual Modules ("new MPD")
Mitsubishi introduces the new MPD modules now into the european market.
Those new
modules will round out the IGBT lineup for the industrial sector, building
the new top of the line.
The new mega power duals (MPDs) come with 6th generation IGBT chips
on a copper base plate. Those huge modules focus on big inverter applications
and high power energy conversion off the traction sector. They will
cover the wind energy conversion for a very competitive price.
The product family "new MPD" will comprehend the following types:

The first module to come will be CM1800DY-34S. We expect the first sample deliveries in November, all other types

Features of all NEW MPD
- 6. gen. IGBT chips: Tj max=175 °C, Vce(sat) = 1.7V @ 1200 V, Vce(sat) = 2,2 V @ 1700 V
- integrated NTC (thermistor) for Tc sensing and overheat protection
- very low internal package stray inductance of only 5,1 nH
- direct copper bonding for longer lifetime / high temperature cycling capability.
